Bookshelf Dividers Serve Multiple Purposes

Room dividers are useful and decorative pieces that can separate a specific area, offer privacy in a shared room, or hide a cluttered corner.  Add a bookshelf, and the usefulness of the partition becomes even more extensive.  Bookshelf dividers are popular pieces and are available in multiple styles and sizes from many different retailers and suppliers.  Prices will vary by size and materials.  Take the time to shop around to find one that works with your décor.  Often bookshelf partitions will work in any theme, because what you put on the shelves will steer the divider toward contemporary or classic.

The Expedit Bookcase, sold at Ikea, is a simple piece made of particle board, fiberboard, and plastic.  The shelves are open on both sides of the divider, and it can be used against the wall or as a room divider.  The bookcase, which comes in white, black-brown, birch-effect, and walnut-effect, is 58 inches square and 15 3/8 inches deep, with an array of 16 shelves.  It is priced at $99, and is available for order at ikea.com.

Living in a studio apartment for several years, I've found that Multi-task furniture can be very helpful, especially in smaller spaces. Using a room divider as a bookcase is a wise use of space.
