Modern Dividers: Functional And Fashionable
|
Room dividers are not a new product. For years we have seen images of beautiful starlets moving behind three-paneled privacy screens to change her clothes, tossing her discarded garments over top of the divider or on the floor. Dividers are useful in a number of different settings. Churches and schools use them to divide large rooms into two or more smaller rooms. They are great in an apartment or a dorm where roommates would like to add privacy as a replacement for a permanent wall. Offices are sometimes constructed entirely out of dividers, separating cubicles and departments. Modern dividers are functional, decorative, and versatile. There are endless options to how dividers can be used in a home, and there are enough styles and designs to make them work in any decorating motif. Take the time to peruse the dividers available through retailers such as Walmart, Ikea, Home Depot, and Lowes, both in their stores and online. You will find a selection that will spark a host of ideas for your home. Don’t stop there, though. While you are online, visit sites for the many other suppliers as well. A simple internet search will reveal the many sites where room dividers are available for purchase. Take a look at your home. Do you have a bedroom that could use a sitting area blocked off for privacy? Perhaps you are turning a corner of your great room into an office and a temporary wall would give you some semblance of order. Room dividers can be the answer in the endless bickering between two siblings sharing a room. Once you have decided where the need exists, it is time to decide what kind of divider is needed. With the proper hardware installed, you can have a sliding, rolling, or accordion divider that is permanently placed and can be opened and closed along tracks in the ceiling and floor. On the other hand, a free standing room divider can be very decorative; folding stand alone partitions is mobile; it can be moved if you rearrange furniture or folded flat for storage as needed. Once you have looked at the room dividers on the market, you may simply wish to use one to add to your décor. They come in designs and styles ranging from rustic to Victorian, traditional to modern. They make great focal pieces, complimenting the artwork you have chosen for your walls. In an online search, you can find a company that manufactures dividers in the styles you desire and then search distributors who sell those products. You will find that prices vary according to size and materials, but there is sure to be a divider that fits your decorating style and budget. Some options for room dividers include soundproof dividers, which are ideal for recording studios, dorms, and homes where the entertainment center is in one part of a larger room. Bookshelf dividers serve a dual purpose in dividing a room and offering space for books or decorative items. Partitions are available in rustic, Japanese, and louvered styles, and many other fashions as well. |
